Minneapolis: MN: Fedogan & Bremer, 2000. In conjunction with Cave's 90th birthday F&B has published this collection of his hard-boiled Peter Kane detective stories. Cave's wry (or is it rye?) twist was to make Kane a pie-eyed private eye, who solved crimes at a staggering pace while fighting hangovers and hoodlums alike. Kane, the ace detective of the Beacon Agency, appeared in a popular series of nine adventures, written between 1934 and 1942 and appeared in "Dime Detective". His plots often bordered on weird menance fiction. One of only one thousand copies of the trade edition.. Hard Cover. Fine/Fine. Illus. by Jill Bauman.
