Good Condition/No Dust Jacket. 435 g.; VIII, 9-272 pages, last page blank, preface by author, notes and bibliography. 1/4 black coloured cloth backstrip with white paper insert to the spine and within that insert black titles. 3/4 red, white, green and blue decorated boards. Dark blue coloured tint to the top text block edge. Bumping and rubbing to the backstrip with 2 small splits to the top backstrip village. Heavy bumping and rubbing to the book corners with the underlying board visible. Fading to the backstrip and staining to the white insert of the backstrip and a little rubbing to the book panels. The blue tint to the top text block edge has faded and browning and staining is visible. The front fore and lower text block edge are deckled. Browning and offset tanning to the endpapers and the internal text are slightly age toned with the occasional foxing spot. Previous owner's name to the top edge of the free front in paper. A selection of 100 French poems, in both French and English. Ranging from the 14th century through to the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Such poets as François Villon, Pierre de Ronsard, Paul Verlaine and Arthur Rimbaud are represented, among others. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
