Two volume set. Both volumes bound in full red cloth with gilt lettering on spines, top edge gilt. Vol. 1 has 346 pages, Vol.2 has 306 pages including index, both volumes have foldout endpaper maps. Both volumes signed and inscribed by Brininstool to Capt. H.L. Barlow of the Los Angeles Police Department dated July 1, 1934. Laid into Vol. 1 is an envelop containing a card and and typed letter signed by Hebard thanking him for his courteous letter and to advise him that Brininstool has a "marvelous collection of books and photographs and I know he is glad to dispose of them for financially he has been hit as the rest of us have." Light shelf wear to both volumes. Volume 1 has some fraying to cloth at head and heel of spine, and offsetting to front endpapers from aforementioned letter, small scratch to top edge gilt.
