Covers a bit rubbed, some edge wear, especially at corners. Overall, an attractive, clean set. This first British edition was published simultaneously with the American edition, but contains five further sketches. Both volumes are complete with type setting "A" as per BAL. [BAL: 10110]..

Bracebridge Hall, or The Humorists, A Medley was written by Washington Irving in 1821, while he lived in England, and published in 1822. This episodic novel was originally published under his pseudonym Geoffrey Crayon.

The Argonaut Book Shop was founded in 1941 in the middle of the financial district of San Francisco. The Argonaut was a founding member of the Antiquarian Booksellers\' Association of America and has been a member in good standing ever since. The Shop is now located just three blocks from Union Square in downtown San Francisco and is open six days a week. Parking facilities include ample street space and a parking garage close by.
