Complete set in 2 volumes. Beautifully designed gilt front covers and spines with gilt top page edges. Both volumes contain 14 illustrated plates by a variety of artists, including ARTHUR RACKHAM (there are 5 Rackham illustrations in all). Over each plate is a piece of tissue paper, on which is printed a line of text related to the illustration, as well as the name of the artist. With alternating decorative borders around every page of text and vignettes at the beginning and end of each chapter. Each volume has a ribbon page marker.

Condition:
Both volumes are in excellent condition both inside and out and nearly appear unread. Clean covers and spine with bright gilt; sharp corners. Both are tightly bound with no cracks and no loose pages. Both have clean pages with no issues found. The end of the ribbon page marker of volume I is frayed. Bright gilt top page edges. Some pages are still attached at the outer edge. Overall a wonderful condition set.
