Uncommon volume from Henry Altemus' Marqueterie Series, only published in 1899. With illustrations by Randolph Caldecott, namesake of the Caldecott Medal. Japanese inlaid veneer style binding with gold, maroon, orange and green floral motif on the cover. Decorative end paper with "HM" monogram. Color frontispiece "Fair Julia." Pencil ownership signature on the front free end paper. Headbands are worn and rear free end paper is chipped. Corners bumped. In very good condition.
Sinopsis
Bracebridge Hall, or The Humorists, A Medley was written by Washington Irving in 1821, while he lived in England, and published in 1822. This episodic novel was originally published under his pseudonym Geoffrey Crayon.
