Sobre este artículo
D. Lothrop, Boston, 1886. First edition. Scarce. A beautiful book, with gilt and black-stamped lettering and decorations on the front board and spine. Brown cloth-covered boards, 7 1/4 x 5 1/2 inches, 384 pp., b/w illustrations (frontispiece plate; 26 other plates; other illustrations in text). Very good (modest edgewear; focal, mild rubbing; gilt bright; modest spine slant; a little dust soiling, top edge of book block; gift inscription in neat pencil script, front free endpaper; with the exception of a few minor stains, pages are clean; a couple short edge tears; binding in good shape). Defects described in detail --- a nice copy. Multiple stories with girls as the central characters: Jennie of Swan's (Annie Sawyer Downs); The Assistant (Mary Hartwell Catherwood); Noblesse Oblige (Nora Perry); Our Venture (Jane Andrews); A Brave Baby (Sara E. Wiltse); How Naomi Flooded the Bog (Stuart Chaplin); A Modern Kate Barlass (Mrs. Frances A. Humphrey); Kate Oxford's One Talent (Nora Perry); Little True Blue (Mrs. Lucia Chase Bell); The Story of a Good Little Mother (Mrs. Lucy Gibbons Morse); Dolly's Last Night (Emily Huntington Miller); Bessie's Story (Frank H. Converse); Henrietta's Heroism (M.E.W.S.); Fayette's Ride (Clara E. Guernsey); The Story of a Dress (Nora Perry); The Little Jade Lizard (M.E.W.S.); Molly Crowde's Ride (Mrs. Frances A. Humphrey); Anna Albitz of Birkendorf (Cynthia Saxton Turner); Her Little Life (Julia A. Eastman); Polly's Lion (David Ker). (3214028). F. Hardcover.
