Sobre este artículo

New York: Henry Holt and Company, 1944. This book club edition is in Fine Condition with a Very Good dust jacket. The dust jacket has some chips and a few tears. (Click on photo.) I've placed the dust jacket into an archival Brodart protective sleeve. The book itself is bound in a woven mustard-colored cloth with die-stamped brown spine titles. This is a clean and bright copy, with the original owner's name on the free front endpaper. Although this is a wartime book, the pages show only minimal age toning. From the dust jacket: BRAVE MEN begins with the landing on Sicily... and ranges from Sicily, Italy and the grim days on the Anzio beachhead through the calm of those last few pre-invasion weeks in Britain, the savage climaxes of the Normandy beaches to the smashing drive through France." The book measures 5 7/8 by 8 5/8 inches and includes 474 pages with Index. . Hard Cover. Fine/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.

Sinopsis

Newspaper columns reveal the journalist's first-hand accounts of trench warfare, field hospitals, destroyed cities, realities of being a soldier, and the frontlines of battle during the fighting in Europe from 1943 to 1944.

The war from the view of the average soldier, captured by a writer on the beaches beside them.
