Original green cloth binding with moderate shelfwear. Illustrated with 11 plates containing drawings of pioneer and gold rush scenes. Most of the plates have a small stain in the margin at the top edge, which also slightly affects adjacent pages in some instances. Cowan "History of California" page 154. First edition..
