First edition of the author’s first book. An excellent noir mystery, which was the basis for the 1947 film noir Crossfire, considered one of the first major-studio efforts to confront anti-Semitism, and starred Robert Mitchum, Robert Ryan, Paul Kelly, Robert Young, Steve Brodie, George A. Cooper, William Phipps, and Gloria Grahame.
