Owner's name to the end paper, there is a stain to the top edge of the pages along about half their length, the pages are clean except where the stain has penetrated ino the top margin about 1/8" or less, some faint spotting and soiling to cover cloth,one page of the prologue has 8 words underlined in red, no other markings, thus Acceptable copy; lacking the dust jacket. Dark red cloth, 304pp. This book was "produced in complete conformity with the authorized economy standards". This novel , possibly one of the best novels in English, deals with the role of divine Grace in the lives of the Marchmain family as seen by the protagonist, Charles Ryder. (1.6 JM HOQ 101/a5. 4th. Hardcover. Acceptable/Lacking the Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
