Written by Henry Cecil Leon, a British barrister, judge, and writer. With an introduction by Mr. Justice Devlin, a British judge and legal philosopher. An account of the difficulties and pitfalls faced by the young barrister, to call attention to possible mistakes and suggest how to avoid them. Written lightly, with plenty of fun along with instruction.Illustrated throughout by Edward Ardizzone, a British painter, printmaker and illustrator. In the publisher's original black cloth binding, with the original, clipped dust wrapper. Externally, very smart, with light shelf wear and the occasional mark to cloth. Light offsetting to endpapers. Dust wrapper smart with light edge wear and rubbing. Sunning to the wrap, particularly to the spine. The odd mark to wraps. Internally, firmly bound.
