Zürich: Fretz & Wasmuth Verlag AG, 1954. Hardcover. 118p., presswork in a normal-size font but (to expand the text to book-length) each line is separated above & below a fraction more than usual. Find scattered color facsimiles of watercolor vignettes pen-painted by Hesse on notes to friend Rolland, seven including the frontis; 9x5.5 inch skyblue papered boards gilt with white backstrip also gilt, enclosed in the dust jacket. Production quality is very near "fine-press". Publisher's matte-white dust jacket is decorated with one of these seven, blue-bordered. An immaculate copy; we see no damage beyond touches of offset black to blank rear panel of jacket.
