Sewn card covers with cover title in red and gilt and chromolithographed front cover illustration of three children riding donkeys on a beach; back cover has smaller chromolithographed illustration of a boy holding a bouquet, within an ornate gilt frame. No date of publication; advertised in The American Stationer in 1896. Page count includes inside front and back cover. Gift inscription at head of first page: "Presented to Alice Blottenberger, by her teacher, Anna W. Baker, Winter of 1900-1901." Contains charming line drawings and chromolithographed illustrations of children and animals accompanied with descriptive verse. Includes Rhymes of the Months and Seasons, with four chromolithographed illustrations. A scarce McLoughlin Brothers late 19th-century children's book. In Good Condition: cover is soiled and lightly creased; cover is separating at spine; several closed tears of 2 cm. or less from lower edges; soiling, primarily along edges; illustrations are bright.
