First Edition. An unusually nice copy of a book most often found either rebound, repaired or worn. "One of the best of the manuals, but without any special value beyond. There is a voluminous chapter on pastes, which is a general raking together of all antecedent recipes of the kind, medieval and modern."-Westwood & Satchell, p. 241. With cipher and coronet bookplate of Panshanger (seat of Earl Cowper); and Lamb family lion and coronet bookplate of the Library, Brocket Hall. Heckscher 2273.
