Ottawa: Government Printing Bureau. 1909., 1909. First Edition (& 1st printing). Octavo, original green cloth titled in gilt on spine. 546 pp, large folding map at rear (often missing), complete with the errata slip (also often missing) tipped in at the front endpaper. Small stamp on inner front cover (St. Andrew's College, Winnipeg); no other markings. Small (and old) tape repair, about 2-inches long, at the first edge of the folding map, the old cellotape has browned. A near fine, bright copy in the original green cloth, faintly frayed at spine head. Loosely laid in is an invoice from a Vancouver area rare book dealer, dated 1990, selling this book for $250.

¶ During his years as captain of the Canadian government steamship 'QUADRA', John T. Walbran became fascinated with the BC coast and set to work on his classic work British Columbia Coast Names, here first published.
