Three volumes bound in one, (a fourth part was also published - not here present.) each part containing 50 loose plates of reproductions from the British Museum. The illustrations were originally selected by Sir George Warner in 1906 from the collection held by the Grenville Library. The 150 splendid plates reproduced in photogravure depict mostly religious illuminated manuscripts from the Byzantine, English, French, Flemish, German, and Italian schools.
