Sobre este artículo

MP3 Audio CD. Sara Teasdale was a United States lyric poet. Her full name was Sarah Trevor Teasdale born in St. Louis, Missouri, and made use of the name Sara Teasdale Filsinger after getting married.

Sara became a member of The Potters, presided by Lillie Rose Ernst, a group of female artistes in their adolescence and early adulthood who wrote, The Potter's Wheel, a monthly creative and fictional magazine in St. Louis.

Sara?s first verse was printed in William Marion Reedy's Reedy's Mirror, a local periodical. Her first set of verses, Sonnets to Duse and Other Poems, was printed at the same time as her first verse, in 1907.

Sara?s 2nd set, Helen of Troy and Other Poems, was printed in 1911. It was favored by critics, who celebrated its lyrical expertise and passionate theme.

Sara was fawned over by many men, such as the poet Vachel Lindsay, who was really much in love with her although did not agree that he can give sufficient money or financial security to make her happy. She decided to wed Ernst Filsinger, an old-time enthusiast of her work.

Sara?s 3rd poetry set, Rivers to the Sea, was printed in 1915. It was and is a bestselling collection, being republished many times. Then, she and her husband relocated to New York City, where they settled in an Upper West Side apartment on Central Park West.

She won a Pulitzer Prize in 1918, for her 1917 poetry set Love Songs. It was "made possible by a special grant from The Poetry Society"; nonetheless, the promoting organization files it today as the primal Pulitzer Prize for Poetry, begun 1922. Ernst?s continual business trips made Sara very lonely. She then lived expressway for 3 months, by that fulfilling the basis to obtain a divorce. She did not want to tell Ernst, only doing so at her attorney?s importunity as the divorce was carried out.
