Boston: The Four Seas Company, 1920. Hardcover. xviii, 369p., front., photographic illus. as called for, original brown cloth case binding is gilt-titled and bears a vignette photo portrait of the author. Boards somewhat edge worn, hinges a little soft, spine lettering eroded, previous owner's name on front blank endpaper, sticker scar on front pastedown endpaper. Brown traveled for two years to New York, Boston, Chicago, San Francisco and other places '"disguised" as a penniless workingman, taking photographs of his companions as he went.
