Sobre este artículo

New York: The New American Library, 1968. First edition of the author's first novel, preceding his Pulitzer Prize-winning work The Killer Angels. Octavo, original cloth. Presentation copy, inscribed by the author on the second free endpaper in the year of publication, "To Judy + Bill - best wishes - Mike Shaara March 22, 1968." Near fine in a very good dust jacket. Tom McCain, a Korean War vet, returns to his career as a professional prize-fighter where he was known as the Finisher, a boxer with the will and the ability to kill his opponent. The war, however, has change McCain and a search for inner peace leads him from a Southern college campus to the Middle East, and ultimately, to a save confrontation in the ring. "A haunting novel, written with grace and economy, and at a pitch that can be called absolute" (Harvey Breit).
