Binding has remained firm. Boards are a little rub worn, slight shelf wear to corners, spine and edges. Corners are a little bumped. Spine ends are mildly crushed. Tanning to spine and edges. Light wear to unclipped dust jacket with tears, nicks and creases to spine, edge and corners. Tanning to spine and edges.

Very clean with no name - minor shelflife to text block only - & minor wear top/tail of spine - Part of the collection of Sq.Leader Peter Brown decd. (Battle of Britain Pilot) we have been able to purchase part of his extensive collection of books relating to the Battle of Britain and the RAFs contribution to the Second World War. As would be expected of this Spitfire fighter pilot, who formed part of Douglas Baders "Big Wing" the books outline both the exploits of his and his fellow pilots and the tactical planning, forays and personalities that made up the RAFs magnificent wartime involvement . The books of themselves hold a wealth of information about this period, having been carefully chosen by one who was there and also hold a poignancy having been owned by someone to whom the experiences and people who are documented within were all very real. It is described as "A Tribute to Those Who Won the Supreme Award for Valour in the Years 1940-45". There is the odd illustration in colour, a number of photographs in black and white and a large number of photographic plates in sepia depicting the recipients of this award together with their potted biography. Internally very good and tight but there is a corner of the first page of the index about 7cm x 8 cm which is missing. In original burgundy buckram gilt hard cover binding with design blind stamped on front cover. Slight rubbing at top and bottom of spine . Near Very Good.
