London, Brook, Richardson & Co., nd [c 1880], . . green cloth with gilt rules title lettering on spine, light stain on rear cover, very good copy with nice plates. . 8vo [22 x 14.5 cm]; 272 pp, 34 colored plates (some hand colored, rest chromolithographs) including frontis, plus colored title page, numerous other engravings. . The British Museum copy has only 32 plates. Most of the plates show 3 to 6 figures, although a number show only one subject, including one of the water lily. An interesting work that describes the uses of the plants and their cultivation. Hundreds of species are covered. A picture of this book is available on request by email.
