Brown highly decorated tooled leather with raised bands on spine, brass edge covers and two fully functional brass clasps, joints are rubbed but have no cracks or splitting, small areas of leather on the rear cover are also rubbed. Inner hinges are taped but tape has become loose at rear hinge showing partially a split between the rear cover and the text block. Text block binding is sound, pages and plates are clean. End-papers are lightly marked. Includes pages for family portraits and family register that are clean and unfilled. Contains many colour plates (chromolithographs) including additional title page, most of which have a tissue protection leaf. This book weighs approx. 6kg. Contains many colour plates.
