Small 4to, pp. 40, (2), original quart cloth with card boards printed in green and pink, backed in buff buckram, printed paper label to spine, printed on hand-made paper with illustrations by Anne Estelle Rice. The fourth publication by the Beaumont Press, which was set up by Cyril W. Beaumont. After founding his Bookshop on the iconic Charing Cross Road in 1910, he established the Beaumont Press in 1917, focusing on publishing fine productions of poetry and literary works. (Debra Craine and Judith Mackrell, "Beaumont, Cyril William," in The Oxford Dictionary of Dance, Oxford University Press, 2000; Cyril W. Beaumont, "The First Score: An Account of the Foundation and Development of the Beaumont Press and Its First Twenty Publications", London: Beaumont, 1927.)
The Author Robert Nichols was a very talented poet, with much of his work being influenced by his experiences during the First World War. A charming book, containing a wonderful combination of dramatic and lyric verse.
