A finely detailed and delicate book of botanical illustrations by Jesse M. [Marion] King (1875-1949) , one of the Glasgow Girls, an influential group of Scottish artists active at the turn-of-the-century. This volume features three different images of women outside next to blossoming plants on the front cover, half-title and title page, followed by fourteen full-page illustrations of various flowering trees and shrubs. The front cover image is printed in color on translucent Japon paper, while the remaining illustrations are in black and white and printed on cream-colored laid paper. The original glassine jacket bears a price stamp of 1/- NET on front panel. Budding plant illustrations include Sallow Catkins, Apple Blossom, Daphne, Chestnut Tree, Lilac, Whin Blossom, Honeysuckle, Bramble Blossom, Blackthorn/Sloe, Wild Rose, Cherry Blossom, Cydonia Japonica, Elder Flower, and Dandelion. ; 12mo 7" - 7½" tall .
