Sobre este artículo
Los Angeles: Desert-Southwest, 1965. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. Illustrated with reproductions of 27 colorful paintings by the author, with two photographs. Second printing. Now classic collection of paintings and prose remembering Los Angeles in a quieter time. Born in Fresno, California in 1908, Politi (1908-96) spent his developmental years studying art at the Institute of Monza in Milan Italy. Returning to California in 1928, Politi settled near Olvera Street in Los Angeles and began writing and drawing in earnest, winning a Caldecott Award in 1949 for Song of the Swallows. Inscribed and dated, with original watercolor drawings and decorations, by Politi to Fred Krinsky, a rabbi who founded several congregations in Southern California and a former chairman of the Government Department at Pomona College: "to Professor Fred Krinsky, in appreciation, Trojan Guild and Leo Politi, 1967." Original gray cloth binding, with pictorial gilt stamping. The dust jacket is price-clipped, with a bit of general mild edgewear; otherwise very good. Inscribed by Author.
