Sobre este artículo
London: The Sheldon Press, 1926. Cloth. Very Good Indeed. 8.5" by 6". Not Stated. A charming documentation of different species of butterflies and moths, complete with colour plates. This is the Second Edition of this work, in original publisher's green cloth binding with butterfly and moth motif to the front cover. The First Edition was published in 1913. This work was written by William Forsell Kirby, who was an English entomologist and folklorist. He became interested in insects from an early age and published his first work, the Manual of European BUtterflies at the age of 18. Later on in his career, he worked for the British Museum, publishing a number of catalogues on the subject of entomology. This particular work details different types of butterflies and moths, including White Mountain Butterflies, Hawk-Moths and Purple Emperors. With 28 colour plates to the rear and many other black and white vignettes throughout the work. Collated, complete. In original publisher's green cloth binding. Externally, very smart, with minor shelf wear only. Light bumping to the extremities and the occasional mark to boards. Internally firmly bound. Pages bright and clean. Very Good Indeed
