[9x7.25]; [48], many illustrations and images from the expedition interspersed with advertising and articles on the expedition; Original dark blue paper wrappers with two staple binding, white lettering on front over image of men on the ice during a winter night; covers split and chipped at spine and loose with no loss of text, some age toning of paper chip at top rear cover. Byrd's Second Antarctic Expedition (1933-35) reprints from the New York Times "Alone - in the Antarctic Night" by Dr. Thomas C. Poulter, Byrd's second-in-command. Many of the illustrations show images from the expedition, including the use of products advertised in the booklet by their manufacturers.
