Sobre este artículo

London: Printing Historical Society, 1990. Paperback. Fine. 8.5" by 5.5". Various. Very scarce copy of this catalogue of two sales of S. & C. Stephenson. Printed roughly two centuries after the sales by the Printing Historical Society, the catalogues contains many illustrations and descriptions of printing apparatus, with an introduction by James Mosley exploring the refinement in the techniques and materials of printing that were developed in the late eighteenth century. Mosley, as a retired librarian, historian and specialist in the history of printing and letter design therefore is a notable and authoritative commentator on the history of printing apparatus, making this text a vital work for any reader interested in the history of printing. Published by 'The Printing Historical Society', a society devoted to the study of the history of printing. The Society was jointly founded in 1964 by James Mosley and a large group of teachers, scholars, students of design and bibliography, librarians, professional printers and amateur enthusiasts, including the likes of the printing historian James Moran, the German calligrapher, typographer, type designer, book designer and illustrator Berthold Wolpe, and the English bibliographer, printing historian, printer and book-collector, David John Chambers. In card binding. Externally smart with some shelfwear and sunning to backstrip only. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean throughout. Fine
