Sobre este artículo

Philadelphia: National Mines Company, c.1910. 9pp. + map. Typed Document. Folios. 13¾ x 8½ inches. Leaves and map affixed with brass brads to an outer wrapper. Folds; minor soiling to wrapper; very good.

Report issued by the National Mines Company on their gold and silver mining prospects in Colorado. The report argues the company-owned Ada Group of Gold Mines was worth further investigating "...as a sure, certain and large dividend-paying investment."

The report offers a detailed analysis of the gold output the Ada Group's five mines. Their potential is compared to the actual output of neighboring mines in the Colorado gold district that are already paying handsome dividends.

The Ada Group comprised five mines, four in Clear Creek County ( "Ada," "Howard," "Equity," "M.K.") and one in Gilpin County, Colorado ("Marshall").

The final page of the report is a blueprint map showing the actual locations and alignments of the company's five mines. The locations and alignments of over 90 neighboring mines are also shown.

Accompanying the analysis are three reports by mining experts Stephen Hoskin of Colorado, Dr. J.M. Scott, proprietor of the Penn Smelting and Refining Co. in Philadelphia, and Sydney Kenney, Ada Group vice-president.

Hoskin proposes where and how to excavate the Ada Group mines. Scott discusses the geology of the veins, the refining of the gold ore, and assays 11 samples taken from the mines.

Kenney's report tabulates the actual gold and silver outputs of the company's "Ada" and "Equity" mines in Clear Creek County, including returns from mill dirt, ore, and tailings.
