Boards are lightly worn at corners; otherwise, boards and pages are clean, unmarked, bright, tightly bound and sharp cornered. Is first issue of Thorton Wilder's first book, with points of "conversation" for "conversion" on p.196, line 13, and "explaininn" for "explaining" p.202, line 12. Scarce, Out Of Print, Book. "This Pulitzer Prize winning author's novel is set in Italy. Contents: First Encounters; Marcantonio; Alix; Astree-Luce and the Cardinal; The Dusk of the Gods." .
