A collection of poetry and writing on Men, Women, Love and Marriage, Religion, Philosophy, Human Nature, Politics, Art, Poetry, Phrases, and more. Written by Sir Philip Sidney, an English poet, courtier, scholar and soldier remembered as one of the most prominent figures of the Elizabethan age. Edited by George MacDonald, a Scottish author, poet and Christian Congregational minister who became a pioneering figure in modern fantasy literature and the mentor of fellow-writer Lewis Carroll. Bound in half brown crushed morocco with green cloth boards. Externally, smart with light rubbing and minor bumping to the extremities. Fading to the spine and the odd small mark. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with light scattered spotting and age toning to the endpapers. Contemporary ink inscription to the front endpapers with previous owner's address label to the front endpaper. Very Good

Where are We?
Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
