LVII [1] 332pp. Originally printed in 1888, this appears to be a first edition, second issue with 1889 on title page and no additional printings noted. French language text. Bound into half red leather and red marble boards and endpapers. Ex-library copy, indication of which is a stamp on the front and rear free endpapers. Binding is tight. A bit of scuffing and fading to the spine. Classic textbook on probability which states Bertrand's paradox, a problem in continuous probability. DSB II pp87-90.
