The text is illustrated with numerous black-and-white illustrations by Dennis Turner, along with black-and-white reproduction of contemporary illustrations and black-and-white photographs. Black-and-white illustrated cover which has had a ochre coloured overlay, against a gold background with black and white titles to the front panel. Minor rubbing to the spine edges and to the book corners. Sunning to the rear panel along with a few marks. Browning to the verso of the book panels and light age toning of the internal text. A small potted history of the Maori people of New Zealand, touching on all aspects of life, including social, religious, cultivation, war and arts and crafts. Size: 4to 9¾" - 12" tall.
