New York: Random House, 1958. Author's second novel, based on the Punitive Expedition against the Mexican revolutionary Panch Villa. Made into an excellent film with Gary Cooper and Rita Hayworth. This is a Very Good copy of the First Edition (stated First Printing). Light tan linen cloth binding; titling on the spine inbrick red and gilt. Clean text; 213 pages. There is a gift inscription on the FFEP and what appears to be coffee splash on the rear cover. The dustjacket is unclipped but showing edgewear, rubbing, and some chipping to the head and foot of the spine. In an archival plastic protector.. First Edition. Half-Leather. Very Good/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
