8vo, rebound with leather spine and marbaled boards, illustrated with large folding map, 184 pp. Some creases and stains to pages, but generally bright and clean, rubber stamp with date on lower margin of title page, map has some chips and tears at folds, some discloration from tape repairs to one fold and where it is connected to book; else good. Wagner considered this work one of the most interesting accounts of this important western expedition. There is a good deal of material on Texas, New Mexico, Indians and the Santa Fe region.There is also some information on the Texas Rangers, including a discussion on the brutality of the Rangers in chaper seven.
