Sobre este artículo
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, U.S.A.: John C. Winston Co., 1918. First Edition Later Printing . Hardcover. Fair/Fair. Early 20th-century YA series featuring the adventuresome Campfire Girls, modeled after the real organization of the same name, which had started in 1910 as the first nonsectarian, multicultural organization for girls in America. The series was written by various women authors through the 1930s. This book is #9 of 14 penned by one by one of the most prolific writers, Margaret Vandercook. Orig. published in 1918, this is a slightly later printing: thicker book, listing to book #10 in front matter (along with other girls' series titles by this & other author on the DJ flaps & rear). In 249 pages, with plain endpapers; frontispiece + 3 internal illustrations by an uncredited artist. Hardcover 8vo has yellow-brown cloth-covered boards with a red & black stamped image of girls rowing a canoe to front, black lettering to front & spine. From a single little girl's collection, with her name & Xmas 1920 to ffep in light pen, the book is in Fair condition: generally quite clean, but with foxing to entire exterior. Binding strong & straight, hinges secure. Downgraded due to dampstaining to upper-outer corner of last 50 or so pages & back DJ. Modest rubbing to extremities, heavier loss (insect damage) at lower spine. Pages moderately tanned (heavier to edges) but unmarked. The unclipped DJ (replicating the same image as the front book cover, with a blue background) is Fair: largely intact, but with that rear dampstain & missing lower 2" of spine; protected by former owner in clear mylar cover. Our photos depict the EXACT book you will receive from us--never "stock" images of books we don't actually have! Same Day Shipping on all orders received by 2 pm weekdays (Pacific time); later orders, weekends & holidays ship very next business day.
