East Aurora, NY: The Roycrofters. 1st Edition Thus . Hardcover. Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. No date (c. 1919). Inscribed "To Daisy with love from" and signed "Doris" with the date December 1919, in fountain pen to ffep. Mustard cloth covered boards with dulled gilt lettering and decorative light blue stripe diagonally across front board. Moderate foxing and toning to cloth; minor edgewear; lightly bumped spine ends and corners. Gilt-topped text block. Binding somewhat tender, with stiff deckle-edged pages. Text clean. Interior lightly toned. B/w photo plates and decorative printers' ornaments. Includes introduction by her mother. Brown silk ribbon bookmarker is detached and laid in. 3 1/2" tear to one page. No stickers or stamps. Not ex-library. An uncommon book, especially signed, by this native Buffalonian who served as a nurse and truck mechanic in WWI.
