First Edition. 12mo (18.5cm.); publisher's purple pebble-grained cloth, state "D" as described in the BAL (no sequence determined), browned glazed endpapers; [6],252,23pp. Some general wear to cloth extremities, bottom corners bumped with subsequent bubbling to cloth and crack to front pastedown, spine rather sunned and gilt flaking, else Very Good and sound overall. Publisher's advertisements in rear dated December, 1864. BAL 20115.
Sinopsis
Thoreau's account of his travels and explorations on Cape Cod is considered his most genial book, and one of his most appealing. Published in 1865 after his death, Thoreau's CAPE COD remains an indispensable guide to the area.
