Green coloured cloth covered boards with black coloured titles to the front panel and black coloured titles and illustration to the back strip. Illustrated dustwrapper, artist not credited, showing two young men lying on a rocky outcrop looking at a ship, with black and white coloured titles to the front panel and green, white and black coloured titles to to the back strip. A ripping yarn adventure from the 1930s for boys. Softening and some fading, commensurate with loss of dustwrapper to the backstrip edges. A little bumping to the book corners and fading to the top book edge, again due to loss of dustwrapper. Some rubbing of the book panels. Tanning of the textblock edges and pages and offset tanning has occurred to the end pages. Chipping, with loss, to the dustwrapper corners, lower backstrip edge and a little to the top edge of the front panel. There is a 1.5" tear to the top right-hand corner of the front panel. The top edge shows some tears and pieces missing with associated creasing. Rubbing of the dustwrapper panels and fading of the backstrip. Rubbing, staining and handling marks to the rear panel.
