Hardcover with dustjacket, book has one remarkable flaw: pages 281 through the last page have a short tear at the top margin that shrinks to a nick towards the end of the book and have done no damage to the text, the binding is clean and tight and the contents are fine, a few minor jacket flaws: it is price-clipped, moderate rubbing to the white rear panel and mild edge-wear, mostly at the top of the spine, the jacket features a great front panel/spine illustration which is bright and clean and a professional (removable) mylar cover is included, features a nice frontis portrait of Captain Biddle and a folding plan of the Continental Frigate Randolph .
