Hall, Tasha - Book Design. 263 Pages. Blue boards with gold spine lettering. There is three-line gift inscription signed by the author on the front endpaper. Otherwise a bright book in new condition. In 1992 Gilman resided in Albuquerque. Laid in is a four column article from the Albuquerque Journal about why a book without Mrs. Pollifax. She is quoted as saying finally a book with some sex in it.. Also laid in is a 1992 multi-page interview by Jodi Stinebaugh for the rag Prime Suspects which includes a photograph of Gilman. The interview was conducted in Gilman's apartment seven stories high with a breathtaking view of Albuquerque and the Sandia and Manzano mountains and is titled A Chat with Dorothy Gilman and it is a transcription of the interview. This story is about Plucky Caressa Horvath who travels with her anthropologist husband to Tripoli, where a band of vicious nomads kidnaps her, believing she is a sorceress, and force her to make a three-year odyssey across the Sahara. This book was a 25,000 first printing and a $25,000 advertising promotion and tour.
