Sobre este artículo

The CardinaL - Henry Morton RobinsonlNew York: Simon & Schuster , 1950. 1950 reprint. Fair. see pictures, interesting older hardcover published 1950 by Simon and Schuster, 1950. hard cover. Maroon-ish brown, hard cover, 565 pp. fair condition, wear to top/bottom of spine, this is a good reading copy with a lot of character. Why would you buy an e-book, when you can have this one.On its first publication, The Cardinal was an immediate bestseller, it was published in more than a dozen languages and sold over two million copies. Later made into an Academy Award-nominated film directed by Otto Preminger and starring John Huston, the book tells a story that captured the nation's attention: a working-class American's rise to become a cardinal of the Catholic Church. The daily trials and triumphs of Stephen Fermoyle, from the working-class suburbs of Boston, drive him to become first a parish priest, then secretary to a cardinal, later a bishop, and finally a wearer of the Red Hat. An essential work of American fiction that is newly relevant with the ordination of New York's Timothy Dolan as cardinal, Henry Morton Robinson's novel is back in print by popular demand..... About the author Henry Morton Robinson was born in Boston, Massachusetts, September 7, 1898, and was educated in the public schools of Malden, Massachusetts Kim was in the Navy at the outbreak of World War I, and later attended Columbia University. He began his literary career as a poet, publishing three volumes of verse while acting as an instructor in English at Columbia College. In 1927 he became a freelance writer and produced a succession of books as both articles and short stories for leading magazines. He collaborated with Joseph Campbell on a monumental study of James Joyce's last and greatest work. After five years of scholarly research and shared divination, Messrs. Robinson and Campbell presented a puzzle world with a skeleton key to Finnegans wake. Mr. Robinson is also the author of two previous novels the perfect round, published in 1945 and the greatest snow, published in 1947. Mr. Robinson is married, has three children has lived in the last 20 years at that time in Woodstock, New York.....
