The book is based on interviews with AIDS sufferers and carers and its various chapters have been written by people who have worked with them. It covers such matters as emotional support, home nursing, legal considerations, bereavement, counselling, housing, cash help and dealing with prejudice together with advice on how the carer should care for himself (or herself). Separate chapters look at the particular needs of drug users and of children with HIV infection. Each chapter lists relevant support services.
