Inscribed on the flyleaf: "For aunt Helen with love from John Crawford August 6 19547. This book is the first publication of the firm Duschnes, Crawford, Inc. - March 25, 1947."

Although not mentioned in the imprint on the title page, Duschnes-Crawford is identified on the verso of the title page as the publisher. John Crawford was the great collector and benefactor of the Met and the Morgan Library.
