Publisher's electric blue cloth with red titles to spine and upper board and red hunter motif to spine in an unclipped pictorial jacket; red upper edges and mapped endpapers. Very light sunning to upper board edges and spine; jacket shows very slight creasing to spine tail and small areas of surface loss to edges. Overall a very clean copy; FIRST EDITION, with the first state jacket, of Burrough's third novel in the Venus series. A rip-roaring adventure in which Earth man, Carson Napier, must battle sea monsters and the living dead to rescue his beloved princess on Venus. Brought to life with illustrations by John Coleman Burroughs, Edgar Rice's son.

Sinopsis

Carson of Venus is the third book in the Venus series (Sometimes called the "Carson Napier of Venus series") by Edgar Rice Burroughs. It was serialized in Argosy in 1938 and published in book form a year later. The novel, which was written close to the outbreak of World War II, satirizes Nazi Germany by including a fascist political faction called the "Zani."
