Sobre este artículo
Paris, c. 1770. Copper engraving, 49.5 x 62.5 cm, original hand colour in outline, small stain off the heel of Italy, blank verso. A later state of Robert de Vaugondys road map of Italy, showing the Venetian Republic, Papal States, Kingdom of Naples etc. The original date (1756) and privilege have been burnished from the plate, and Elizabeth Haussard has been replaced by Groux as engraver of the cartouche. Both the identity of Groux, and why his name was added to cartouches which were otherwise unaltered, remains mysterious (Pedley p. 67).
