Published in the 100th anniversary year of the enlargement of the original Grand Central Station - and the addition of the magnificent cast iron eagles on the terminal towers. In 1910 the terminal was demolished and the eagles mysteriously disappeared. At the time of this booklets' publication, 10 eagles had been accounted for. Author David Morrison is a railroad historian who tracked down some of the eagles. He was responsible for getting one back to Grand Central. (As of now, 2 of the eagles have returned.) Here is an accounting of the eagles' whereabouts as of 1998 - generously illustrated with both color and black & white photos. 8-1/2 x 11". 32 pages. Softcover. Near Fine.
