Sobre este artículo
New York: Clarkson N. Potter, Inc., 1988. Uncorrected Proof . Trade Paperback. Fine Minus. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. This is an Uncorrected Proof - not quite the same as, but often referred to as an Advance Reading Copy, or ARC - fast becoming an attractive "collectible", as it precedes the First Edition. This large paperback appears to have the same size page-block as the subsequent hardcover First Edition. A Casual Brutality is the first novel by this gifted Trinidadian/Canadian author (in fact the nephew of illustrious author V. S. Naipaul). Its setting is a Caribbean island, its main character (a doctor, schooled abroad, having returned to his birthplace) "caught in the web of political disintegration". 378 pages. CONDITION: a bright, square, unmarked, uncreased, apparently unread copy with negligible shelf-wear, compromised only by a light bump (or manufacturing anomaly) at the spine top. This handsome, collectible copy is now in a clear, protective polypropylene bag. NOTE: The publisher's introductory promotional letter is included with this copy.
