Sobre este artículo

New York: Random House, 1957. Book. Illus. by Dr. Seuss. Very Good. Hardcover. 1st Edition. Random House, 1957, New York. Hardback. First Edition/Second Printing. Very Good/Good. The book is the second printing of the first edition with all the correct points including the lack of a price on the jacket, which is correct for the second printing. The spine is straight and tight, the boards are firm and sound with minor wear on the edges and the mostly pointed tips. The inside of the book is "as new" without a crayon or any other mark or tear and very clean. The dust jacket has a 3" by 2" tear out at the top cover removing the "T" from the "The" and a bit of the top of the hat (see picture). There is a small tear out at the foot of the spine. Otherwise the jacket has some soiling, faded pen marks, tiny creasing and rub wear. Looks sharp in it's new removable archival mylar..

Sinopsis

The Cat in the Hat is a children's book written and illustrated by Theodor Geisel under the pen name Dr. Seuss and first published in 1957.  The story centers on a tall anthropomorphic cat who wears a red and white-striped hat and a red bow tie. The Cat shows up at the house of Sally and her brother on a rainy day while they are home alone. Despite the repeated objections of the children's fish, the Cat shows the children a few of his tricks in an attempt to entertain them. In the process, he and his companions, Thing One and Thing Two, wreck the house. The children and the fish become more and more alarmed until the Cat produces a machine that he uses to clean everything up and disappears just before the children's mother comes home. The Cat and the Hat  inaugerated the Beginner Books Series, promoting both the Dr. Seuss name and the cause of elementary literacy in the United States.
